CARA Disaster Assistance Team

The Disaster Assistance Team is an optional path for our members who wish to create specific items and ship them directly to the same place each time.

The CARA disaster and welcome team was originally created to respond quickly and effectively to urgent need situations that arose for our rescues from natural disasters, large intakes and other unusual situations. Members of this team work together to create items from our condensed list and ship them straight to CARA headquarters as a stockpile.

When a situation arises that needs a quick response, items are pulled from our stockpile and shipped directly to the rescue/area in need. This allows us to ship a larger more complete package at a faster rate.

The disaster team expanded to also include welcome packages for new CARA rescues. When a rescue signs up with CARA they are sent a package of 10-15 items off their list from our stockpile. Having this option ensures that rescues are not waiting lengthy periods of time for their first package of items. It has cut our turn around time from a months to weeks.

The disaster team has a separate FB group where we discuss needs, supply and answer questions. You may join our Disaster Team group HERE. Members can contribute to the disaster team in addition to our Self Guided and Monthly Member Project Paths.
